Day 3: Confession

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. –James 5:16.

Read the whole passage in James 5:13-16.

The problem must first be recognized. We must admit that something is wrong. Without this confession, nothing more can happen. No one with a broken leg asks for running shoes. No one with an empty tank asks for new tires. They first confess the reason for their immobility and then proceeded to address that reason. The cause of divorce, crime, violence, and poverty have bet one root. The connection between sin and brokenness may not always be immediate or obvious; one bad thought does not always equal a stubbed toe or a jammed finger. But the roof of the world’s broken system is in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

Talk with God
Father, I confess to you my failures and promise to confess the same to those I have wronged.

Live it. How will you live more Second today?
Tell it. How will you share what you have learned?
