Day 6: Looking

The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. –Luke 19:10

Read the whole passage in Luke 19:1-10.

Jesus came for those who know their lostness and who recognize their sickness. Healthy people do not go to the hospital. Those who do not know they are lost don’t slow down to ask for directions. But if we admit our sickness and come clean about our lostness, Jesus offers eternal life in heaven. It is a gift that is neither earned by good deeds nor granted to those with good intentions. Heaven is not won when the good outweighs the bad nor given if we are not as bad the next guy. We can put away all our dreams of impressing God and accept that we are already loved. We do not need to dress up to make him smile or clean up before he accepts us home.

Talk with God.
I know my best deeds on my best days can never earn your favor. Forgive me of my failures and give me the strength to accept your grace.

Live it. How will you live more Second today?
Tell it. How will you share what you have learned?
