A Caretaker’s walk

Trash can ruin a tranquil walk through the woods. Litter can make a neighborhood look unkempt. Storm debris can render a mountain biking trail impassable. Sadly, we live in a fallen creation. We catch only small glimpses of the full magnificence of all that God once created — and will restore in the New Creation (see 2 Peter 3:13).

As you think about that, clean something up as you walk this weekend. Take part in a trail restoration project. Walk through your neighborhood, playing a game with your children to see who can pick up the most trash. God fishing and come back with a creel full of discarded soda cans. God created the world and declared it very good. As his steward or caretaker, you can help restore it to some of its former glory.

From the book Man of God walking by faith.
